4.5.1 pH calibration
pH sensors that have not been in use for some time must always be recalibrated. To
calibrate a pH sensor automatically, complete the following steps:
1.
<M> Settings / General / pH calibration
2. Select Control pH sensor or Monitor pH sensor, Press E.
3. Rinse the sensor with distilled water.
4. Dry the sensor with a tissue.
5. Blow off any residual moisture.
6. Place the pH sensor in calibration solution pH 4. Press E.
7. Wait for the indication that the measuring time of 60 seconds has elapsed.
8. Rinse the sensor with distilled water.
9. Dry the sensor with a tissue.
10. Blow off any residual moisture.
11. Place the pH sensor in calibration solution pH 7. Press E.
12. Wait for the indication that the measuring time of 60 seconds has elapsed.
13. Press E to save the calibration values, or ESC to abort the calibration process.
14. If the calibration process was successful, the message 'pH calibration
successful’ will appear on the display.
15. After completing the calibration process, restart the controller (switch power off
and back on).
16. Check the calibration by placing the sensor in both calibration solutions again.
A pH sensor must not be allowed to dry out. The pH sensor is kept moist
during transport and storage with a protective cap containing water. Remove
this cap before use and place the sensor back into it if the VitaLite-E and C is
not in use for an extended period.
4.6 Connecting EC sensors (if present)
To make the EC sensor(s) ready for use, complete the following steps:
1. Check the EC sensor by placing it in the calibration solution.
2. Check the value on the display of the unit.
3. If the value does not match the value of the calibration solution, recalibrate the
EC sensor.
4.6.1 EC calibration
To calibrate an EC sensor automatically, complete the following steps:
1.
<M> Settings / General / EC calibration
2. On the display, select 'Control EC sensor' or 'Monitor EC Sensor' (pre-
measurement, pre-blending).
3. Press E.
4. Hold the EC sensor in the open air (EC 0). Press E.
5. Wait until the display indicates that the measuring time of 60 seconds has
elapsed.
6. Rinse the sensor with distilled water.
