5 Commissioning
Once the power supply, sensors and pipes have been connected correctly, the unit can
be commissioned (i.e. put into operation). The unit is supplied according to the
customer's specifications. This means that the selected extra options have been
installed and the corresponding settings have been pre-programmed in the controller.
The VitaLite-E and C is controlled by the process control software. The process control
software consists of a series of setting and readout options that allow you to operate
the unit. These are also called the 'controls'.
The controls determine when the controller sends a signal to start a particular
process. Some of these controls depend on the hardware configuration present and
will be programmed by the dealer or installer once. Other controls can be modified by
the user as needed.
During commissioning, the dealer or installer will check the unit and settings based on
the specifications. If these settings are correct, the unit can be set up. Some of the
settings need to be checked at dealer level. Please note that these settings are only
necessary for setting up the unit.
This chapter describes the various hardware and software settings.
