Control panel on collimator
When adjusting the size of the radiation field, use the two control knobs on the
front of the collimator as shown in Fig. 3-7.
The left knob is for the transverse field adjustment, and the right knob is for the
longitudinal one. The face of the collimator shows the direction of the blade
movements as shown in Fig. 3-7.
Numbers on the three striped parts show the field sizes in “cm” unit, calibrated
1m, 1.5m, 2m SIDs, respectively. Numbers on the other parts show those in
“inch” units for the 3 SIDs as in “cm”, respectively.
For instance, when field size is to be 17 x 17 inches (43 x 43cm) at 1m SID,
adjust the control knob to be shown in Fig. 3-7.
