5.1.3 Plug assignment
The connection to the CANopen fieldbus is made using a 5-pin open style connector.
Pin Description
5 V+ CAN_V+ Voltage supply
4 H CAN_H CAN High
3 DR (CAN_SHILD) Screen connection
(optional)
2 L CAN_L CAN Low
1 V– CAN_GND Ground/0V
5.1.4 Bus cable
CANopen is based on a linear topology with screened, twisted pair 2-core cable and termi-
nating resistors at both ends of the bus. The screen is connected to ground at both ends.
The transmission rate, depending on the network length, is between 10 kBit/s (>1000 m)
and 1 MBit/s (25 m).
It is not necessary to connect a voltage supply (pin 1/5) to the UE410-CAN.
