5.4.2 Quick Commissioning with DIP switches
Overview
The CU240M Control Modules have been designed to allow quick commissioning to be
performed using a set of three DIP switches. The DIP switches are located on the Control Module,
as shown in the gure below.

CU240M Control Modules naming convention
Although the CU240M is given a Control Unit designation, the actual device is called a Control
Module. The reason for the naming convention is that the Terminal Housing, the
Communications and Power Interface, including the Control Module comprise all the
components that make up a standard Control Unit conguration; but when assembly and
installing the SINAMICS G110M system, the Control Module requires a unique designation so
that it can be easily identied in the installation procedures.
