position.
Risk of injury and material damage
Failure to heed this warning may result in physical injury and material damage.
When using Li-ion batteries (type BA21), please observe the special safety precautions for
storage, operation and shipping which this technology always requires:
•
Do not short-circuit batteries, do not expose them to high temperatures (no direct sunlight,
do not burn) and do not damage them mechanically.
•
Stop using the battery immediately if it emits an unusual smell, feels hot, changes colour
or shape, shows signs of damage or corrosion, or appears abnormal in any other way.
•
The battery housings are welded and cannot be opened - the battery cells contained in
them and the corresponding charging electronics cannot be repaired and must always be
replaced in their entirety with original parts.
•
Batteries with a damaged housing/open connecting socket can release liquid and must be
replaced immediately.
•
Store Li-ion batteries in their original protective transport packaging and away from other
combustible materials.
•
When shipping batteries/beds equipped with these batteries, please observe the special
requirements of international transport law concerning dangerous goods, based on the
UN classifications of the relevant safety data sheet for the battery (UN3480) and the bed
equipped with it (UN3481).
•
The safety data sheet of the battery is enclosed with every replacement delivery. The
safety data sheets for the bed and the battery are also available on request from our serv-
ice centre.
