14.6 Replace the control box
1. If possible, raise the bed to its highest position to make work easier.
2.
Unplug the mains plug from the electrical socket.
3.
Open the handset storage compartment, see Storage options for handsets » 23.
4.
Unlock the handset cable by tilting the locking tab upwards on the inside of the storage
compartment.
5.
Disconnect the plug of the handset to be replaced from the socket it is plugged into.
6.
Insert the new handset plug into the open socket as far as it will go.
7.
Make sure that the plug groove is in the correct position in relation to the socket and
that the O-ring on the plug is undamaged. This requires a little force and ensures that
the plug fits tightly.
8.
Tilt the locking tab back down so that the handset cable is secured.
Note:Please ensure that the locking tab in the unassigned second storage compart-
ment is in the closed position. This protects the connection socket from moisture, dust
or dirt.
9.
Only if equipped with LCD handset: Programme the LCD handset, (see Programming
the LCD handset » 126).
10.
Test the electric adjustments to ensure they work correctly!
Installation is complete.
1.
For easier installation, raise the mattress base to the highest position.
2.
Unplug the mains plug from the electrical socket.
3.
Pull the linen holder out at the foot end.
Loosen the two screws for the control box holder on the underside of the linen holder
and take out the control box
4.
Remove the retaining ring on the connection socket on the control box and unplug the
OpenBus
®
connector.
5.
Replace the control box with a new one. Insert the OpenBus
®
plug back into the open
socket as far as it will go. Make sure that the plug is correctly aligned (plug groove
aligned with the protrusion in the socket) and that the O-ring on the plug is not dam-
aged. This ring ensures that the plug is tightly sealed.
6.
Re-attach the retaining ring.
7.
Re-insert the mains plug.
