9.1.2 Moving the bed

As a general rule, always apply the brakes when the bed is not being moved or when a
patient is left unattended in the bed.
Make sure that the mattress base has travelled to its lowest position before leaving the
patient unattended. In this way, you greatly reduce the risk of the patient injuring himself/
herself as a result of falling when getting in or out of bed.
Material damage
Failure to heed this warning may result in damage to property.
Attached accessories: When the bed is moved, ensure that objects hanging in the uni-
versal holders do not cause any damage (e.g. to door frames).
