SECTION 8G. DECK VALVE
GENERAL
The deck valve is used to control the rotation of the
deck motor. The valve is mounted under the seat plat-
form (Figure 8G-1).

REMOVAL
1. Shut off the engine and remove the ignition key.
2. Unlatch the seat platform. Pivot the seat and seat
platform to the full upward position.
3. Thoroughly clean the valve, especially the area
surrounding the hydraulic hoses and fittings.
4. Tag and disconnect the hydraulic hoses and deck
valve. Immediately plug the hoses and valve to
prevent contamination of the hydraulic system.
5. While supporting the valve, remove the two
mounting screws and lock washers from the bot-
tom of the valve (Figure 8G-1).
6. Remove the valve from the mower.
REPAIR
Repair of the deck valve is limited to replacement of
valve components (Figure 8G-2).
