HYDRAULICS
8M-71
14.Open the tester load valve, set the parking brake,
start the engine, and advance the engine speed to
full throttle.
15.Engage the front deck.
16.Slowly close tester load valve until a reading of
2000 psi (138 Bar) is obtained. Read and record
flow C) on Flow Test Report 2.
17.Continue to close flow meter load control valve
until zero flow is obtained. Observe deck relief
valve pressure reading. Read and record pressure
D) on Flow Test Report 2.
18.Shut off the engine.
Conclusion
• If leakage (Minus Pump Leakage) is less than 1 gpm
(3.8 lpm), deck valve is not at fault.
• If leakage is more than 1 gpm (3.8 lpm), deck valve
is faulty.
• STEP 17, 3200 psi (220 Bar) should have been
observed. If pump and deck valve passed leakage
test, and the 3200 psi (220 Bar) could not be
achieved, the deck relief valve is at fault.
19.Remove the blocking disc from the deck motor
pressure hose, and reconnect the hose to the
deck motor.
Deck Motor Test
20.Leave flow meter connected as in the deck valve
and pump tests (Figure 8M-16).
21.Make sure blocking disc is removed from the deck
motor pressure hose fitting. Connect the hose
onto the deck motor (Figure 8M-16).
22.Disconnect the return hose from the deck motor
(M2 port on deck valve), insert a blocking disc,
and connect the hose (Figure 8M-17).
23.Open the tester load valve, set the parking brake,
start the engine, and advance the engine speed to
full throttle.
24.Engage the front deck.
25.Slowly close tester load valve until a reading of
2000 psi (138 Bar) is obtained. Read and record
flow E) on Flow Test Report 2.
26.Shut off the engine
Conclusion
• If leakage (Minus Pump and Valve Leakage) is less
than 1 gpm (3.8 lpm), deck motor is not at fault.
• If leakage is 1 to 1-1/2 gpm (3.8 to 5.6 lpm), deck
motor is marginal.
• If leakage is 1-1/2 gpm (5.6 lpm) or more, deck
motor is faulty.
27.Remove the blocking disc from the deck motor
return fitting, and connect the hose.
28.Disconnect the flow meter from the implement
pump and restore all hose connections.
CAUTION
Do not exceed 3500 psi (241 Bar) when closing
flow meter load valve in the event the deck
relief valve is faulty.
CAUTION
Remove the deck cutting blades or remove the
spindle drive belt, as the blades may turn if the
deck motor is leaking internally while perform-
ing this test.
