6. Tag and disconnect the wiring harness from the
fuel sending unit (Figure 9C-4).

7. Tag and disconnect the fuel return hose and vent
hose. Tag the fuel outlet and immediately plug the
hoses and tank to prevent contamination of the
fuel system.
8. While supporting the fuel tank, remove two mount-
ing bolts from the rear mounting bracket of the
tank and two mounting bolts from the upper front
mounting bracket (Figure 9C-5).

9. While supporting the tank, remove one mounting
bolt from inside the rear mounting bracket behind
the sending unit (Figure 9C-6).

10.Remove the tank from the frame.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the fuel tank on the frame brackets.
2. Install two mounting bolts through the rear mount-
ing bracket of the tank, two mounting bolts through
the upper front mounting bracket, and one mount-
ing bolt through the inside rear mounting bracket
behind the sending unit.
