5.5 Function test of the safety switches
If you open any flap, lid, cover or the knife box door during a running cutting
process, the machine must switch off immediately and the cut-off knife and
the piston must stop immediately.
This function is checked during the function test described below.
The machine is operational.
5.5.1 Knife box door
b Close the feed chamber by pressing down the handle.
The cutting process begins.
b Open the knife box door (☞ „Opening/closing the knife box door“ on
page 35).
The machine must switch off at the latest if the knife box door is opened
by 8 mm.
The cut-off knife and the piston must stop immediately.
b Close the knife box door.
Risk of injury due to defective safety switches!
The machine must not be put into operation if any safety switch
is defective.
Risk of injury!
If the machine does not switch off within the specified range
during a test, the machine must not be put into operation.
In this case, secure the machine against any start-up and
arrange repair immediately.
Risk of injury on the upright knife!
If any safety switch has been actuated, the knife can come to a
stop in the shaft. You can injure yourself on the upright knife.
