6.2 Sharpening cut-off knife
b Remove the cut-off knife. (☞ „Dismantling the cut-off knife“ on page
35).
b Sharpen the knife.
b Install the cut-off knife. (☞ „Installing cut-off knife“ on page 44).
Below a few remarks about sharpening:
Sharpen a normally blunt blade with a whetstone. In the case of more
extensive damage to the blade, use a grinding stone.
Sharpen the knife under a constant, full water stream.
Only sharpen the side of the blade away from the grid.
Do not shorten the knife point when sharpening.
6.3 Changing blade
b Remove the cut-off knife. (☞ „Dismantling the cut-off knife“ on page
35).
b Loosen the screw on the rear side.
b Remove the knife blade.
b Put the knife blade in a safe place.
b Loosen the lock nuts.
b Loosen the bolts until they no longer protrude on the other side of the
flange.
b Insert the new knife blade.
b Tighten the bolts on the rear side.
b Install the cut-off knife. (☞ „Installing cut-off knife“ on page 44).
The cutting gap must be set (☞ „Setting the cutting gap“ on page 44).
Note:
The high-quality, hardened knife steel must never exceed a
temperature of 100 °C during grinding. At higher temperatures,
the knife loses hardness, and therefore becomes blunt more
quickly.
Note:
We recommend keeping a second replacement knife in stock in
order to prevent downtimes of the machine.
