17 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Below is a quick troubleshooting guide for the Focus 61.
If a problem occurs, before taking any action (replacing parts or contacting customer support), be sure to
check that the Focus 61 was used correctly.
Improper operation can cause troubles even if the system is in good working order.
In case of issues, the log file (refer to paragraph Enabling LOG Viewer for further information) can
provide information about the problem.
Below is a list of error messages (and related description), which can be displayed by the Focus 61
Controller:
01 Hardware error
Cause: Hardware error detected.
Solution: If possible, connect via ToolsTalk BLM to the Controller and download the Logfile.
Refer to your local service for further assistance.
07 BCS overcurrent
Cause: Overcurrent detected on the RS232 Port. The connected device drains too much current from the
Focus 61 Controller.
Solution: use another device within the specifications for your application. The usage of devices which
cause this error can damage the hardware of the Focus 61 Controller.
11 Comm error MPC
Cause: This indicates an internal communication error on the MPC component of the Focus 61
Controller.
Solution: Refer to your local service for further assistance.
15 CAN bus error
Cause: Error in the I/O Bus communication detected.
Solution: Make sure that you connected accessories for the assigned CAN Bus addresses and compare to
your configuration in ToolsTalk BLM. If this is not the reason, delete all of your accessories from your
setup in ToolsTalk BLM. When the stated actions do not solve your problem, refer to your local service
for further assistance.
21 SD A not ready
Cause: The SD card is not read by the device.
Solution: Make sure that your SD Card is inserted correctly in slot 1.1. If it is, check the functionality of
the SD Card on a computer. In case the SD Card is correctly inserted and the functionality is OK, refer to
your local service for further assistance.
