DEFINITY Hardware Requirements —
Available Slots in Switch Carrier
If you are installing a MAPD in an existing switch, three contiguous slots in a
switch carrier are required to house the MAPD system in either a DEFINITY ECS
or DEFINITY PROLOGIX as described in the following list. (See Appendix A ‘‘PBX
Carrier Configuration Worksheets,’’ for worksheets.)
■ DEFINITY ECS System carrier — three contiguous slots. For example,
slots 16 to 18 (see Figure 2-1). Any slots can be used
■ DEFINITY PROLOGIX carrier — slots 6, 7, and the spacer (see Figure
2-2,). Although any slots can be used, If you use slots 6 and 7 in a
DEFINITY PROLOGIX, the MAPD takes up only two slots instead of three.
