For this task, make sure you have the correct ED1E434-11G311 cable (in a length
between 5 and 50 feet). Refer to Figure 2-17 (ignore the shaded areas) as you
complete this task.

1. Physically connect one end of the cable to the modem and the other end to
the MAPD maintenance port (Maint/Port A).
2. Set the modem options as per "Modem Option Settings" in Appendix B,
and if necessary, connect the modem to a phone jack and power on.
