Value Range
Documentation
Modem Based Target Allowed
4
Choice
"No", "Yes"
Allows a modem device to set the azimuth and
elevation targets if supported by the modem.
Skip Coarse Peak If Tx Enabled
4
Choice
"No", "Yes"
If set to yes then coarse peaking will be skipped if the
modem transmitter is enabled.
Modem Minimum Wait Time
4
Integer
0 - 1000
Minimum seconds to wait for a modem signal during
acquire.
Modem Maximum Wait Time
4
Integer
0 - 1000
Maximum seconds to wait for a modem signal during
acquire.
Line Scan Maximum Elevation
Steps
4
Integer
1 - 100
Initial scan plus the number of el steps to make when
an az scan fails.
Line Scan Failure Elevation Step
Size
4
Float
0.0 - 45.0 (deg)
The amount of each el step to make when an az scan
fails.
These Modem specific parameters are considered common to several types of Modems and are
included in the standard set of parameters to avoid issue with duplication in multiple Software
Modules. If no Modem module is present, then these parameter values have no influence on the
behavior of the AAQ and the AvL antenna system.
Modem Minimum Wait Time During acquisition, the controller will wait this amount of seconds
before attempting to read the modem signal level.
Modem Maximum Wait Time If the AAQ controller has acquired but modem has not acquired and
wait time has been exceeded, the controller will then proceed to the secondary, then tertiary
acquisition method. Should these also fail to acquire, the controller will present the user with the
message, “Acquisition Failed, all signal sources tried”.
The Line Scan parameters establish the overall height and number of lines used in the standard
Acquisition raster scan. Elevation Step Size should be set as large as possible, while at the same time
insuring that a satellite located midway in between the lines is easily detected. The number of Max
Elevation Steps should be selected to set a reasonable overall height for the raster scan. Typical number
of 3 is used for default.
