4.2.2 Connection Indicator
Upon opening the AAQ Remote application the program will attempt to establish communication
with the connected AAQ Controller. Once connection is established the Connection Indicator LED
located in the bottom left corner of the application will turn from inactive (grey) to active (green),
shown in Figure 4.2.2.

If the connection light does not change to active (green), communication has not occurred between the
controller and PC. Check to make sure the IP address of the application is correct (File → Settings), the
computer’s IP and subnet mask are valid, and the physical Ethernet connection is present. See Chapter
3 for network settings.
4.2.3 RIOM (Remote Input Output Module) Indicators

The RIOM Connection Indicator LEDs will change from inactive (grey) to active (green) when the
controller has negotiated a connection to each RIOM, these indicators give the user the ability to
check system wide communication at a glance. If any of the RIOM Connection LEDs remain inactive
there is a connection issue to that RIOM module and troubleshooting needs to be performed before
system operation can begin.
4.2.4 Scrolling Alarms
Scrolling Alarms may be seen on the front panel to notify the user of a problem to be addressed. See
Alarms and messages in Chapter 8 for more information.
