5.6.3 Explosion Proof (XP)
The paragraph "Terminals" in chapter 5.6.1 is also valid in this
chapter.
• The threads (cable entries 1/2" NPT and housing cover) must
be protected against damage.
• The threads (cable entries 1/2" NPT and housing cover) must
be protected against moisture and corrosion. Therefore always
lubricate the complete thread with grease OKS 217 in order to
achieve the degree of protection NEMA Type 4X.
Housing Cover • Take the weight (approx. 1.5 kg) of the housing cover into con-
sideration when open and closing it so that it doesn't smash
down.
• Fix the housing cover thoroughly (>10 turns), til the O-Ring is
covered. Tight the housing cover with a torque moment of
25 Nm.
Cable Glands • Ony use metallic cable glands with 1/2" NPT thread.
• Only use cable glands that correlate to the local valid standards
and legal regulations.
• When using conduits, install sealing boxes direct at the cable
entries.
