2.1.2.1 MTS Connection Ports
Two MTS Connection Ports are located above the Needle Connection Channels. The MTS
connection ports support connection of the Galil Medical Multi-Point Thermal Sensors that are used to
monitor temperature within and near the cryoablation target site.
2.1.2.2 Needle Channels
The Needle Connection Panel contains four numbered needle channels; each channel contains two
ports to support connection of up to two cryoablation needles. Each channel operates independently
of all other channels in either freezing or thawing mode.
The electrical connection is used for needles with a memory chip, i-Thaw, FastThaw or Cautery
capabilities.
2.1.2.3 Locking Bars
The locking bar on each needle channel locks the needles into the ports to secure them during the
procedure.
2.1.3 Handles
Two handles, one on each side are available for lifting the Console. The handles are recessed cutouts
in the underside of the base.
CAUTION. If the Console is attached to the ICEfx Cart, use the cart handles to lift the system.
2.1.4 Power Switch
The Power Switch powers ON the Console in preparation for a cryoablation procedure.
2.1.5 Communication Ports
Two communication ports are located on the rear of the Console:
• The Ethernet port allows connection of the ICEfx Console to a Galil Medical remote server for
uploading reports and diagnostic data and for downloading software updates.
• The USB 2.0 port allows the user to save reports to a Galil Medical USB ash drive for download
to another computer or for printing.
2.1.6 Software Reset
The Software Reset button is used to boot the ICEfx Cryoablation Console into a recovery mode if
the software becomes corrupted (reference Section 8.1).
2.1.7 Argon Shuto󰀨 Valve
The Argon Shuto󰀨 Valve is used to turn the gas supply to the Console ON or OFF. It is
recommended to leave the valve in the GAS ON position. Only turn OFF argon gas in an emergency.
2.1.8 Vent Valve
The Vent Valve is used to vent the high-pressure argon gas from the ICEfx Console.
