• Option to view the Gas Venting wizard which describes how to depressurize the system.
Press GAS VENTING WIZARD to view the steps describing how to depressurize the system.
14. Depressurize the system:
a. Turn the shuto valve on the argon cylinder clockwise to close the cylinder.
b. Turn the Vent Valve on the rear of the Console to the VENT position to release the
high-pressure gas from the system.
c. Turn the Vent Valve to the CLOSED position after gas venting completes.
CAUTION. If the needles are still connected, do not unlock the channels or disconnect the needles
from the needle connection panel while venting is in process.
15. If you are ready to shutdown the system, reference Section 6.1 for the system shutdown
procedure.
5.2.1 Adding a CX Needle during a Cryoablation Procedure
If an additional CX needle needs to be added during a cryoablation procedure, add the CX needle to
an open channel, lock the needle in the channel, and perform testing.
If there are no open channels, use the following procedure to add a new CX needle.
CAUTION. Galil Medical recommends that only needles of the same type be placed together in a
single channel. Using needles of diering types in a channel may aect the accuracy of the Gas
Indicator.
1. Select the channel for the new needle and stop all operations for the existing needle in the
channel.
2. Unlock the channel, disconnect the needle from the Console, and set the needle aside.
3. Insert the new needle into the channel and lock the channel.
4. Test the new needle.
5. When the test completes, unlock the channel and reconnect the needle removed from the
Console in Step 2.
6. Lock the channel and continue with the cryoablation procedure.
5.2.2 Adding a non-CX Needle during a Cryoablation Procedure
If an additional needle needs to be added during a cryoablation procedure, add the needle to an open
channel, lock the needle in the channel, and perform testing.
5.3 Changing Argon Cylinders during a Procedure
If it becomes necessary to replace an argon cylinder during a procedure, stop all freezing and thawing
operations.
5.3.1 Standard Argon Cylinder Setup
1. Plan the appropriate time to change a cylinder by estimating the argon required to complete the
procedure. The Gas Indicator indicates how many minutes of argon is remaining based on the
selected gas ow intensity, type and number of needles being used. Also, consider the number of
planned freeze-thaw cycles for the procedure.
2. Safely position a full argon cylinder, with the required gas type and purity, near the empty cylinder.
