3.4 Connecting the Argon Gas
WARNING. Do not connect the ICEfx Cryoablation System to a gas supply exceeding 6000 psi
(414 bar, 41.4 MPa) to avoid damage to internal system components.
WARNING. Ensure that the argon gas cylinder is chained to a wall or an approved cart to
prevent inadvertent tipping of the cylinder.
CAUTION. Galil Medical recommends having additional backup argon cylinders available for each
treatment. At least one full spare cylinder should be available for each treatment.
CAUTION. Turn the ICEfx Console ON before connecting the argon cylinder to ensure the proper
diagnostic tests are conducted.
CAUTION. Position the argon cylinder close enough to the Console to ensure that the gas supply line
is not stretched and does not present a trip hazard.
1. On the rear of the Console, ensure that the Vent Valve is in the CLOSED position (see Figure
3-4).
2. Remove the humidity cover from the argon inlet on the Console.
3. Secure the safety cable at the end of the gas supply line to safety clip on the Console.
WARNING. Ensure that the safety cable is properly secured to the Console in case the gas
supply line becomes accidentally disconnected.
