Needle is not freezing during the Needle
Integrity and Functionality Test
1. The argon cylinder valve may be closed. Open the
gas cylinder valve by turning the gas cylinder valve
counterclockwise to allow sucient gas ow. Verify
that appropriate pressure is displayed on the Gas
Indicator.
2. Conrm that the argon cylinder is connected to the
argon inlet.
3. The needle may be clogged. Try to test it again.
4. If the needle still does not freeze,
• Press the Stop button to stop all activity on the
channel.
• Hold the needle connector rmly with one
hand and unlock the channel to disconnect the
needle.
• Move the needle to a dierent channel and run
the test again.
NOTE: If only one needle is connected to the
channel, there may be some residual pressure
behind the needle connector.
5. If the problem persists, replace the needle with a
new needle.
The Vent Valve is leaking gas The Vent Valve may be open. Fully close the Vent
Valve.
The pressure displayed on the Gas
Indicator indicates the gas pressure is
too low (Table 4-2)
1. Verify the Argon Shuto Valve is open.
2. Verify that the argon cylinder valve is suciently
opened to allow gas ow. If necessary, open the
valve approximately another half turn.
3. Verify that the cylinder contains sucient pressure
using the gauge on the cylinder.
4. Replace the cylinder, if needed.
It is dicult to loosen the pressure gauge
connected to the cylinder, or the argon
gas supply line cannot be disconnected
from the argon inlet connection
The gas line was not vented and the gas line is still
under pressure.
WARNING. Do not apply excessive force to release
the gas supply line or to loosen the pressure gauge.
The gas line may still be under pressure.
1. Verify that the argon cylinder is CLOSED.
2. Verify the pressure gauge at the gas cylinder is 0.
3. If in the Procedure Screen, verify the gas pressure
display shows no gas connected.
4. If still unable to disconnect the gas supply line, or if
the system is OFF, open the Vent Valve on the rear
of the system to completely vent the system.
5. Upon completion, close the Vent Valve.
