4 Gently slide each shaft halfway up through each spindle. If shafts are hard to to slide, a
very thin film of vacuum grease applied on the shaft (near the bottom of the spindle) will
allow it to slide smoothly.
5 Loosen the locking collar on each shaft.
6 Carefully place the stainless steel disk assembly designed for holding the transdermal
system squarely at the bottom of each vessel.
7 Lower the drive head onto the height adjustment block and turn the drive lift knob to lock
position.
8 Gently push down the shafts one at a time until the paddle blade touches the surface of
the disk assembly.
9 Lock each shaft collar using 5/64 inch hex wrench. Do not over-tighten the set screws on
the shaft collars and avoid putting any weight on the drive head when performing this
step.
10 Fully raise the drive head and position the height setting to
Pa ddles
. See figure below for
reference.

11 Lower the drive head and turn the knob to lock position. The bottom of the paddle blade
and the top-side of the disk assembly is set and maintained during the test.
