SD EMULATOR
The SD Emulator is a special feature which allows an Easyprint
Communicator or Compact printer to print messages that have been
created using CoLOS. It also allows messages to be saved on the printer
converting them into EasyDesign format.
Unsupported Functions
The emulator provides most common functionality, however the following
functions are not supported:
Font Matching The closest font match will be used, but this may not be
an exact match. Where no match is found the font used will be Arial, there
is the capability to edit the font substitution table.
Variable Data The following variable data types are currently supported:
Time/date fields, Offset time/date (BBE) fields, User input variable, and
sequential number fields.
Printer Status ‘Printer Open’ on the V-Series is reported as ‘Cassette
Open’ in CoLOS Control. ‘Ribbon Alarm’ on the V-Series is reported as
‘Ribbon Break Detected’ in CoLOS Control.
Message Store The V-Series will only show the first 150 messages
downloaded to the message store. Messages added after the first 150 can
only be accessed using remote protocol commands.
Inverted Barcodes The V-Series automatically adds the correct quiet
zone to the inverted barcode, this results in the barcode width being greater
on the V-Series when the barcode is inverted.
GSI Expanded Stacked Barcodes The content of the barcode data
does not appear to be sent from CoLOS therefore the barcode is not
correct.
Merged Fields Fixed and variable length merged fields are supported.
Formatted Strings These are a special feature of certain SD printers that
allow limited functions to be carried out on text data. This feature is not
supported.
User Codes These codes modify the behaviour of various data fields. This
feature is not supported.
