OPERATION
3-40 25364 Issue 8 March 2018
The retraction function is compromised by a dirty capstan roller. The
drive roller must be kept clean with Head Cleaning Wipes
(P/N
MT25215)
Column Mode is set up by varying the Number of Columns and Column
Width parameters, as follows:
Number of Columns: This is the number of columns into which the user
wants to divide the ribbon width into (five columns in the preceding
example). If this is set to one, the Column Mode function is turned off.
The number of columns multiplied by the column width cannot exceed
the print head width.
Column Width: This is the maximum width of each column. This is not
always the same as the width of the print as the width of the print may
be smaller. Usually ‘Column width’ = Print head width / Number of
columns. However, this parameter must be a whole number. So in the
preceding example using a 53mm print head, Column Width = 53/5 =
10.6 = 10.
Position
The following settings can be adjusted or set from this tab:
X-Offset Displaces the print across the print head. By entering a negative
value the print will be displaced towards the middle of the printer, and
entering a positive value will displace the print away from the middle of the
printer.
Note: The width of the print head must not be exceeded.
Y-Offset Y-Offset is a virtual white space area prepended to the printout. If
Y-offset is too small there may not be enough time to move the print head
into the head position. The error ‘Y offset too small’ will be displayed.
