Operaon with a TIC or TAG
The nEXT85 pump can be connected directly to an Edwards TIC Turbo Instrument Controller,
TIC Turbo Controller or TAG Controller. The TIC will provide the power necessary to drive the
nEXT85 pump, but the TAG requires a separate PSU to be connected.
Instrucons on the setup and operaon with the TIC Turbo Instrument Controller, TIC Turbo
Controller or TAG Controller can be found on CD ROM part number P450-00-000, which is
supplied with the TIC or TAG.
Decelerang and venng
Allow the pump to decelerate before venng.
The system may be vented in accordance with the advice given in Vent opons, vent valve
connecon and control on page 44.
CAUTION:
Do not open a manual vent valve unl the pump rotaonal speed has fallen below 50%,
otherwise the rate of pressure rise may be too high, which could damage the pump. In an
emergency only, open the vent valve quickly to decelerate the pump rotor in the shortest
possible me.
If using the motor controller to control a TAV solenoid valve, there is a 2-second delay between
either a stop command being received or a fault condion being detected and the vent valve
opening. This delay allows me for gauges, valves and other equipment to be switched o
before venng occurs.
