cable for serial communicaons that includes a link between serial enable and 0 V. This way,
serial enable is automacally acvated when the cable is connected and then deacvated
when the cable is removed.
Motor controller conguraon (serial conguraon)
All the conguraon sengs stored within the motor controller are retained when power to
the pump is removed so that it is possible to use a separate system to congure the motor
controller before
ng the pump to the applicaon.
This gives the benet of tailoring the pump funconality to a customer applicaon and allows
the pump to be operated using a simple parallel interface system.
To congure the pump, either use a customer simple serial system, via the serial link, or use
the Edwards TIC Turbo Controller, TIC Turbo Instrument Controller or TAG Controller. The TICs
have a feature which allows storage of a nEXT85 pump’s conguraon. The conguraon can
then be downloaded to another nEXT85 pump. This is useful when conguring a number of
nEXT85 pumps with the same sengs before they are ed to a system.
The USB service port can also be used in conjuncon with the Edwards nST PC soware to
congure the nEXT85 pump. The conguraon can then be downloaded to another nEXT85
pump, in the same way it can with a TIC, which is useful when
conguring a number of nEXT85
pumps.
