Reading the displayed volume

This section is a detailed look at reading the output volume display on the
switcher’s front panel. If you do not need to read the exact value of the volume
setting, skip this section.
Thereare65stepsofvolumeattenuation,with1dBperstep(buttonpush),except
for0-to-1,whichis13dB.Atmaximumattenuation,noinputbuttonsarelit,
76dBofattenuationisapplied,andtheaudiooutputiseffectivelymuted.Atno
attenuation, all input buttons are lit and the output volume is equal to the input
signal plus any gain or attenuation that is applied to that specific input using the
inputaudioleveladjustment.See“Viewingandadjustingtheinputaudiolevel
(audiomodels)”.Otherthantheminimumandmaximumvolume,theswitchers
indicatethevolumedifferently,dependingonnumber(12,16,or32)ofinput
buttons.Seethetableonthenextpagetoreadthevolumedisplayforeachdisplay
scheme.
For each display scheme, the input buttons blink or light sequentially to indicate
the approximate volume of the selected output. Volume is defined as a percentage
oftheinputaudiosignalthatisappliedtotheoutput.From0%ofvolume,therst

Whenallinputbuttonsarelitforanyswitchermodel,theaudiooutputis100%of
the audio input level.
