8. Connect the power cable and SCSI cable to the back panel of the new CD-RW unit. The SCSI cable
must be connected to the top SCSI connector (3).

Be careful not to pinch or damage cables.
9. Carefully slide the housing unit that accommodates the new CD-RW unit back into the Control Sta-
tion. Fit, but do not tighten, the two screws and washers (4) under the CD-RW unit (3 mm allen
wrench). The screws should be placed in the second from from the front of the Control Station frame.
Position the CD-RW unit centrally. The right edge of the CD-RW unit should be approximately
12.5 cm from the right lateral bar of the Control Station frame.
10. Temporarily mount the top cover, then center the CD-RW unit’s tray with respect to the cover aper-
ture. It is possible and accepted that the width of the CD-RW unit exceeds the width of the opening in
the top cover. However, there should be no gap between the CD-RW and the top cover.
11. Once you have aligned the top cover and the CD-RW unit, remove the top cover and tighen the
screws and washers (4) so that housing accommodating the CD-RW unit is secured to the Control
Station frame.
12. Replace the Control Station top cover (see Job Card PHY A040 - Remove/Reinstall Control Station
Covers on page 503).
7-3 Verification of installation
1. Power up the Senographe system and insert a blank CD-ROM in the new CD-RW unit.
2. From the Browser,click the CD-R icon and select Query in the drop-down menu.
3. The blank CD-ROM should be recognised by the Query. If the blank CD-ROM is not recognized,
check connections, and restart the AWS.
