GE Healthcare Senographe DS
Revision 1 Service Information and Procedures Class A 2385072-16-8EN
Job Card CAL A012 - X-Ray Tube Heater Current
1. Perform section 6-2, Calibration procedure on page 1674 for the LF/Rh, SF/Mo and SF/Rh combina-
tions, but not the LF/Mo combination.
2. For the combination LF/Mo in the Generator software table; manually enter a low I HEATER value
equal to +4.500E+0 A for each kV station.
From Application Mode, the complete path is: SETUP / GENE / INSTAL /GENE / GENE / TUBE /
HEATER / LF/Mo / PARAM / I_VALUE / CHANGE.
Press <Change>, then enter <4.5 A> using the Next and Valid keys and the kV dial. Once the value
is entered and confirmed, press <Setup> to continue entering the remaining parameter values for
each kV station.
3. Set the Senographe configuration to display the I HEATER value measured after each exposure.
From Application Mode the complete path is: SETUP / GENE / INSTAL / GENE / CONFIG / DISP /
YES.
Following an exposure, some parameters are displayed in two groups which appear alternately;
I HEATER measured is the last item in the first group.
4. Return to manual Application Mode (two points) with the combination LF/Mo (any filter).
5. To confirm the I HEATER value measured, an exposure time longer than 500 ms is required. To
ensure this minimum time, select 63 mAs for all kV stations.
Perform an exposure for each kV station, and record the displayed value of the corresponding I
HEATER LF/MO in Table 2 on page 1678.
Note:
Wait at least 30 seconds between exposures to avoid obtaining a TUBE TOO HOT message.
Verify that all the values noted in the table are in descending order (starting from 22 kV); in the
event of discrepancy, perform a second exposure for verification.
6. Enter in the Generator software table all the I HEATER LF/MO measured using the same path and
procedure as in step 2 within this solution.
Note:
The last digit of the value entered is normally decreased by 1.
7. Check the results by referring to section 6-3, Check results on page 1675.
8. If you are handing the machine back to the user at this point, switch the Senographe off, then on
again.
