6 PROCEDURE
6-1 Check and clean the lift mechanism
1. Raise the arm to its maximum height, to facilitate
access to the arm mechanism.
2. Switch off system power (see the Warning above).
3. Check for any sign of oil leakage from the gas spring
(1). Leakage may indicate the need to change the
spring.
4. Use Grease (for Lift and Rotation) to lubricate the
thread of the trapezoidal screw (2) and guide rails (3)
5. Check the motor drive belt manually for adequate ten-
sion.
6-2 Check and clean the compression mechanism
1. Switch off system power (see the Warning above).
2. Use Lubricant to clean and lubricate the guide rail (1).
3. Check manually with your hands that the Manual Com-
pression Belt (2) is sufficiently tight, that it does not
slide, and that the pulleys move when the Manual Com-
pression Belt moves..
CAUTION
If the belt slides from its position, manual com-
pression functions and braking are not available.
If there is a motorized compression failure,
patient injury can occur.
4. Check the motorized compression drive belt (3) manu-
ally for adequate tension.
5. Check the full length of the flexible flat cable (4) and its
securing ties for any signs of damage.
