8-3 Post Restore Procedures
If you restored the IDC and/or Generator parameters you must perform the post restore procedures
described in the following sub-sections.
If the language used by the ADS Computer is a different to English, restore the appropriate language
according to section 6-3, Set General Configuration Parameters on page 574 in Job Card ELE A013 -
AWS Configuration.
8-3-1 IDC Post Restore Procedures
After IDC data has been restored, the IDC must be rebooted so that it can recognize the changed data.
This can be done either by powering OFF/ON, or using a command window.
To reboot the IDC using a command window:
1. From behind the Browser, launch a command window (see Launching a Command Line Window on
page 120).
A command window appears with an ADS prompt.
2. Make a telnet connection with the IDC by entering:
telnet idc
A -> prompt appears.
3. At the ->prompt, reboot the IDC by entering:
idcReboot
The IDC shuts down and reboots; the message Connection closed by foreign host appears. If you
wish to view IDC startup messages you must reconnect by entering the command telnet idc
again.
The X-ray Console first displays the message S86 AWS/IDC Communication lost, then displays the
message S83 Detector environment not OK until the reboot is complete.
8-3-2 Generator Post Restore Procedures
After the Generator data has been restored, the heater current must be recalibrated by performing Job
Card CAL A012 - X-Ray Tube Heater Current on page 1673.
8-3-3 Stereotaxy Accuracy Check
If the system has the Stereotaxy option, please perform accuracy checks described in the Planned Main-
tenance chapter of the Stereotaxy Operator Manual.
