inactive - DPS off
The Generator attempts to send mes-
sages to the IDC via the serial, with a
timeout of the order of 1 second. If the
Generator fails to send messages to the
IDC after three attempts this error is
raised.
When this error is raised the Generator
cuts power to the detector via the DPS,
the IDC sees that the DPS is powered
down, so the IDC reboots and restarts
the DPS power.
Probable cause:
1. IDC filter dirty, so IDC processor may
be running hot and communications to
the Generator may be slow.
2. Board or COM2 connector on IDC
faulty.
3. IDC-Generator RT/COM cable
(2244615) faulty.
4. IDC-Generator Serial cable
(2226613) faulty.
5. Generator board issue/faulty.
Check that the IDC is running (via the
Service Desktop), and reboot the
Generator.
If the problem persists, proceed as
follows:
1. If you have a Dione5 IDC, clean the
IDC filter according to Job Card PM
A425 - IDC Air Filter Cleaning on
page 1803.
2. Check the IDC-Generator RT/COM
cable (2244615) between the IDC and
Gantry bulkhead.
3. Check the IDC-Generator Serial
cable (2226613) between the Gantry
bulkhead and Generator.
4. From the Service Desktop, perform
the IDC DMR - Serial Line diagnos-
tics using the loopback connectors
from the Loopback Kit.
5. If the problem persists, check the
error logs to see if any other errors
occur in conjuction with this error.
Depending on the the associated
errors, change either the IDC or the
appropriate board within the Genera-
tor.

down, DPS is off.
If 5 minutes after the IDC has booted,
there is no communication at all
between the IDC and Generator, this
error is raised.
Probable cause:
1. Board or COM2 connector on IDC
faulty.
2. IDC-Generator RT/COM cable
(2244615) faulty.
3. IDC-Generator Serial cable
(2226613) faulty.
4. Generator board issue/faulty.
From the Service Desktop, perform
the IDC DMR - Serial Line diagnos-
tics using the loopback connectors
from the Loopback Kit.
If the problem persists additionally, try
adding DB9 Adaptors to the DB9
sockets on the IDC rear panel (see
Job Card TSG A012 - Use of DB9
Adaptors to Reduce Intermittent IDC
or ADS Communication Errors on
page 1029).

Check Senographe/AWS connec-
tions, perform comm diagnostics
