9 INTERNAL CD-ROM OR CD-WRITER TESTS
9-1 Short Test
• Type of test: SUN VTS
On V1/V2 Control Stations, from a command window, enter:
/opt/SUNWvts/bin/cdtest –v -n -o dev=c0t2d0
On V3 Control Stations, from a command window, enter:
/opt/SUNWvts/bin/cddvdtest –v -n -o dev=c0t0d0
9-2 Long Test
• Type of test: SUN VTS
1. Insert a formatted cd-rom disk (not blank).
2. Perform the long test as follows.
On V1/V2 Control Stations, from a command window, enter:
/opt/SUNWvts/bin/cdtest –v –f -o dev=c0t2d0
On V3 Control Stations, from a command window, enter:
/opt/SUNWvts/bin/cddvdtest –v –f -o dev=c0t0d0
9-3 CD-ROM Diagnostics
• Type of test: Service Desktop
1. Launch the Service Desktop (see Launching the Service Desktop on page 120).
2. From the Service Desktop, select Diagnostics > SUBSYSTEMS > AWS.
3. Select the either the Internal CD Reader or External CD Reader radio button, then click START.
Note:
The External CD Reader tests do not work on V3 Control Stations, since there is no external CD-
ROM.
4. Follow the instructions presented by the Service Desktop to complete the CD-ROM diagnostics.
10 TESTS FOR EXTERNAL CD WRITER IF PRESENT
Note:
External CD Writer tests are only applicable to V1 Control Stations that have an external CD Writer.
