Chapter 6: Analyzer Operation
Sparge button — Change the default sparging time (in minutes), when measuring in NPOC mode.
Outlier Setup button — Set up this feature to ignore any value above a set outlier threshold for one
to three consecutive measurements. (The value is NOT stored in the in the instrument nor viewable
on the data screen.) Configure this outlier rejection feature (for use when operating in NPOC mode)
by setting the following:
Outlier Rejection button — Enable or disable the Outlier feature. The default value is Disabled. If
you switch modes (to IC, TC, or TOC) and then return to the NPOC, you will need to enable this
feature again.
Outlier Threshold button — Set the value (ppm) that when surpassed will not be stored by the
instrument nor appear on the data screen.
Rejected Outliers button — Set the number of consecutive outliers (1, 2, or 3) acceptable, before
the instrument stores the value and displays it on the data screen.
For additional information on this feature and its applicability, refer to "
Appendix B: Acronyms and
Definitions."
7. Press the Acid button to specify the percent of this reagent to use in the protocol.
8. Press the Oxidizer button to specify the percent of this reagent to use in the protocol (NPOC, TOC, or TC
Modes Only). For additional information on what Oxidizer settings to use, see step 7
in Step 12: Perform
a Test Analysis” on page 102 and Oxidizer” on page 145.
9. Press the Reps button to change the default setting for the number of measurements (repetitions) the
Analyzer will make for this stream.
10. Press the Flush/Blowback Setup button to configure flushes and/or the blowback operation of the
optional Filter Panel. (See Chapter 7, "
Operation with the Filter Panel" for information on the blowback
operation.)
•Press the Dilution Water Flush button to rinse out salts or particulates from the reactor and its
seals.
•Press the Sample Flushes button to flush the Analyzer with the new sample. Up to 5 Sample Flushes
may be selected. Use Sample Flushes to quickly reach steady-state response when the Analyzer will
be switching from one stream to another and the two streams have very different concentrations.
If you have a GE InnovOx Filter Panel installed (ONLY), press the Blowback Pulses button to set the
number of pulses.
If you have a GE InnovOx Filter Panel installed (ONLY), press the Blowback Delay button to define the
number of seconds for delay between the last pulse and start of the measurement.
11. Press the Analog Out Setup button to configure the 4-20 mA analog output for Stream 1. The Analog
Output Stream 1 screen appears with the following options:
Range Max (ppm) and Range Min (ppm) buttons — Set the maximum and minimum concentrations
(in ppm) that will cause currents of 20 mA and 4 mA to be output, respectively.
Error Level, Warning Level, and Standby Level buttons — Set the current to be output when the
Analyzer detects an Error, Warning, and when it is in Standby (that is not measuring sample
