Chapter 9: Troubleshooting
Pumps
You can test the Analyzer’s pumps using the Diagnostics screen. External Pump 1 and 2 refer to the optional
Peristaltic Sample Pumps mounted on the left exterior side of the Analyzer. Each external pump has the capacity
to service two streams.
P1-SH and P1-R are the sample pumps located in the interior of the Analyzer.
To test a pump
1. On the Diagnostics screen (Maintenance Diagnostics), press the Pumps button. The Pumps screen
appears.

2. To test the external pump1, press the External Pump 1 button. The pump will start pumping. It is
normal for the pump to ramp up its speed when the button is pressed to start the test.
3. Press the button again to stop the pump. The pump will ramp down its speed to stop.
4. Repeat steps 2
and 3 to test each pump installed on the Analyzer.
5. Press the Back button to return to the Diagnostics screen.
NOTE:
The External Pump 1 and External Pump 2 buttons only appear on the screen if your Analyzer has one or
two optional pumps installed. If the Analyzer has only one external pump installed, the button appears as
“External Pump 1.
