Binary Input
The binary inputs include the Analysis Start/Stop input, the leak liquid detectors (main enclosure and optional
C1/D2 or ATEX enclosure), and the level sensors that are included in the Fail Safe accessory. Some of the optional
level sensors are located in the sample cups, and they are used to detect when the flow of any of the sample
streams has stopped. The other level sensors are located in the Check Standard, Acid, Oxidizer, and Dilution
Water carboys.
Press the Binary Input button to display the Binary Input screen (Figure 108 on page 241
). If the Fail Safe
accessory is not installed, the Level Sensors button includes a “Not Installed” notation. Otherwise, each level
sensor should be accessed and its float should be moved up and down. The screen will indicate the float position
by alternating between "High Liquid" and "Low Liquid." The level sensors in the sample cups may be accessed by
unscrewing the stainless steel cover from the plastic sample cups. The level sensors on the Wastewater Sampler
are non-contact capacitive sensors. They can be triggered by grasping the individual sampler tube and sensor
with your hand.
The Analysis Start/Stop binary input Figure 8: "
Wiring Option — Binary Input using Analyzer’s Internal Supply," on
page 85 is located on pins 1 and 2 in terminal block, Table 5, “Binary Input (TB2),” on page 82. Figure 8: "Wiring
Option — Binary Input using Analyzer’s Internal Supply," on page 85 and Figure 9: "Wiring Option — Binary Input
using Analyzer’s External Supply," on page 85 illustrate ways of wiring the input. If the Analysis Start/Stop binary
input is activated when the Binary Input screen appears, the Analysis Start/Stop button will change from Off to
On. However, the Analyzer will not start or stop analysis.
