Chapter 9: Troubleshooting
Check that the sample coil is full of liquid. If excessive bubbles are present, a dilution water flush should
be performed. Watch the operation of the syringe pump to ensure that the syringe is not leaking, and
few if any, bubbles are introduced into the coil.
Inspect the syringe pump for leaks, and to confirm that the plunger moves during analysis.
Confirm that the peristaltic pumps in the Sample Handling Module and Reactor Module operate during
an analysis.
Confirm that the Gas-Liquid Separator contains liquid to the proper level (Figure 89
) and that all tubes
are properly connected.
If maintenance work has recently been performed on the Analyzer, confirm that electronics cables are
securely attached.

If a visual inspection of the Analyzer does not help you identify the source of the problem you are experiencing,
consult the specific problems discussed in this section.
The Analyzer Will Not Power On
If the power switch is on, but the display is not illuminated, touch the display. The Analyzer may be in Standby to
save power.
