Chapter 8: Maintenance
3. To facilitate removal of the tubing from the valves, navigate to the Flow Control Valves screen (Menu
Maintenance
 Diagnostics Valves Flow Control Valves).
4. Press the button for the appropriate flow control valve module you are changing [Multi Stream Valves,
Sample Handler Valves, or Reactor Valves] to display the available valves for that module.
5. Press the specific valve button (such as V1-SH on the Sample Handler Valve detail screen) to open the
valve. (All valves, except V7-R, have a default state of closed so the first press on the button opens the
valve and the next press closes the valve. V7-R is normally open so the first press will close the valve,)
6. Pull the sample tubing out of the valve and then disconnect the tubing from the barb at both ends.
7. Connect each new piece of tubing to the barbs, and then into the valve. Be sure to seat the tubing fully
under the pin and all the way to the back of the valve opening.
8. After connecting each piece of tubing, return to the Analyzer screen to toggle the valve closed again.
9. After replacing the last piece of tubing, press the Back button to return to previous screens and reach
the Maintenance tab screen.
10. Enter the installation date for the new sample tubing. See “
Entering Consumables Installation
Information” on page 193.
11. Perform other maintenance tasks, or close the Analyzer door and return normal Analyzer operations.
NOTE:
Figure on page 190 identifies the valves and their locations.
