The Voluson E6 is a “feature-reduced” version of the Voluson E8 ultrasound system.
That means not all options are available on the Voluson E6 (marked with
* in sections of this Manual).

The Voluson E8 Expert offers full functionality and performance of “standard” Voluson E8 platform by
providing the new feature “'Wide Sector” (extended field of view of curved array probes by means of
beam steering) on all probes capable of this feature. Secondly the function of the Matrix Volume Probes
(RAM3-8, RM6C and RSM5-14) and the high resolution transvaginal probe RIC6-12 is enabled.
The Voluson E8 Expert system is only distinguished by the Permanent activated “Expert option”
(Figure 8-15: System Setup - Administration - OPTIONS page (e.g., Voluson E8 Expert BT13 system)
on page 8-15) and the “Expert” label on the User Interface (see: Figure 1-1 below); it has NO own serial
number!
