Power On the Instrument
To power on the instrument, press the power button (

).

When the instrument is powered on, a beep is heard, several product logos are displayed, and an Electronic
System Verication (ESV) test runs. See
“Electronic Quality Control (EQC) Testing” (page 52)
. When the
Home screen is displayed, the instrument can be operated. See
“Home Screen Icons” (page 10)
.
2.2.4
Power Off the Instrument
To power o󰀨 the instrument, do either of the following:
Press and hold the power button until the conrmation dialog box is displayed. Conrm power o󰀨 the
instrument.
Press and hold the power button until the instrument is powered o󰀨.
NOTE: If the instrument is in sleep mode, wake the instrument by touching the screen or pressing the
power button.
2.2.5
Sleep Mode
If the instrument is on and has not been used for a specied period of time, it will go into sleep mode to
save battery power. While the instrument is in sleep mode, the screen is blank.
NOTE: The default period of time for sleep mode is 5 minutes. Supervisors can specify a di󰀨erent period of
time. See “Set the Sleep Mode Interval” (page 31).
Operators
and
Supervisors
can also manually put the instrument into sleep mode.
Put the Instrument into Sleep Mode:
To put the instrument into sleep mode, press the power button.
Wake the Instrument from Sleep Mode:
To wake the instrument from sleep mode, do either of the following:
Touch the screen.
Press the power button.
2.2.6
Automatic Shutdown
If the power supply is not connected to the instrument and if it is not used for 1 hour, it will automatically
shut down. Unlike sleep mode, if the instrument automatically shuts down, it must be fully restarted.
The default period of time for automatic shutdown is 1 hour.
Supervisors
can specify a di󰀨erent period of
time or specify that the instrument never shuts down. See
“Set the Shutdown Interval” (page 32)
.
