Create Instrument Operators and Supervisors
1 Click the Operators button.
The Operators dialog box (
Figure 95
) is displayed.

2 Click New. The Adding New Operator dialog box is displayed.
3 Enter the
Operator
settings. For a description of each setting, see
Table 19
.

Setting Description
Operator ID The
Operator’s
ID.
NOTE: The Operator ID length must be 1–32 characters.
First Name The rst name of the
Operator
.
NOTE: The rst name length must be 1–28 characters.
Last Name The last name of the
Operator
.
NOTE: The last name length must be 1–28 characters.
Permission Level The type of
Operator
account (Operator or Supervisor).
Password The password for the
Operator
account.
NOTE: The password length must be 7–32 characters. At least 1 character must
be a special character (period, comma, &, @, *, $, etc.).
Expiration Date The date that the
Operator
account will expire. If a date is not entered, the
Operator
account will never expire.
4 Click OK. The
Operator
(or
Supervisor
) account is added to the list of
Operators
.
5 Click OK again to save the changes and return to the Home screen.
NOTE: To edit or delete an Operator, select the Operator account from the list (Figure 95) and the
appropriate button (Edit or Delete).
NOTE: If using an Operator list from other middleware (e.g., GEMweb Plus 500), the limitation on
Operator ID (character length and/or password) will be determined by the middleware software.
