5.3.3
Clearing a Lockout
To clear a lockout, a
Supervisor
must intervene as follows:
Failed QC Test – To clear a lockout based on a failed QC test, any
Operator
must run a successful
QC test (both Level 1 and Level 2 are required). In an emergency, the
Supervisor
can use the
instrument menus or CCM to clear the lockout.
Expired QC Interval – To clear a lockout based on an expired QC Interval, any
Operator
must run the
QC test. If the test passes, the lockout is cleared and the QC Interval is reset.
To Clear a Lockout Using the Instrument Menus:
1 Select (Settings) > Supervisor Settings > Reset Counters.
2 Check the box for each counter that needs to be reset.
3 Select Reset. For more information, see
“Reset Counters” (page 31)
.
To Clear a Lockout Using CCM:
To Clear an LQCLockout:
1 Select the LQC Settings tab (

).

NOTE: The LQC Settings tab contains 2 sub-tabs: 1 for each type of test (ACT+ and ACT-LR). Be
sure to change the settings on each tab.
2 Select Yes in the Clear LQC Level 1 Failure Count drop-down list.
3 Select Yes in the Clear LQC Level 2 Failure Count drop-down list.
4 Select Yes in the Clear Number of Patient Tests Used After LQC Expiration drop-down list.
5 Select OK.
