THE HASSELBLAD METERING SYSTEMS
The metering system in the original H cameras can be set for average, CentreWeighted, or
Spot metering with many different light-measuring approaches and programmable func-
tions to match the metering approach to your photography. The latest H models offer
CentreWeighted, CentreSpot and Spot. (see Chapter 4 for details). The operation of the 203
center metering system and the 205 Spot metering systems are discussed in Chapter 12.
The PME viewfi nders on the 503 and other V system camera models make excellent
built-in metering systems. The same fi nders can also be used on any 500, 200, or 2000 camera
model as well as the focusing screen adapter on the Superwide cameras, the FlexBody, and
the ArcBody by providing TTL metering in all cases. The readings in the fi nder must be trans-
ferred manually to the lenses. The fi nders can be set for incident metering and for refl ected
metering in Center metering mode or as a Spot meter (see Figures 15-11 and 15-12).

The metering areas, the metering options, and the operation of the metering system are identi-
cal in both fi nders. The two fi nders (see Figures 15-13 and 15-14) differ in the following ways.
The metering system in the PME 90 is operated from a lithium CR-123A, and the PME 45 from
