OPERATING CONTROLS ON DIGITAL BACKS
The Hasselblad H3D and H3DII cameras and the various digital backs have basically the same
operating controls and are operated the same way, but the controls are arranged and operated
in different fashion. The operating controls on the H3D camera are shown in Figure 5-1,on the
H3DII in Figure 5-4, those of the CF backs in Figure 5-2, and the ones on the CFV backs in
Figure 5-1 H3D operating controls. The controls on the H3DII with the larger preview screen
are the same, but they are located in different locations (see Figure 5-4). (A) Preview screen,
(B) function not used, (C) Menu (Exit button) opens and closes the menu system, (D) view
mode button goes through the various view modes of the preview image, (E) ON light and
busy light fl ashing green when digital back is performing an operation, (F) zoom in to make
preview image larger, (G) zoom out to make image smaller or see several smaller images,
(H) approval (OK) button for various functions, (I) busy light fl ashes red when a fi le is loading
onto a card, (J) navigation button which is a rocker switch to step through preview images
and navigate the menu system, (K) fl ash card slot, (L) fl ash card removal button, (M) fl ash card
cover, (N) safety catch for removing sensor unit, (O) CCD and IR fi lter, (P) mounting plate
fi ts on magazine retaining hooks, (Q): Flash sync input, Flash sync output (Q and R are used
when sensor unit is used with a view camera), and (S) FireWire connector.
