The Hasselblad XPan Panoramic Cameras 399
set to the Automatic Bracketing mode with only one or two images left on the fi lm. Turn off
the Automatic Bracketing mode by again pressing the AEB button (in the original XPan) or the
Mode button (on the XPan II), or it automatically goes off when the camera is turned off.
FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY
Electronic fl ash can be used at shutter speeds from B to
1
/
125
second. The fl ash unit can be
connected to the camera through either the hot shoe on top of the camera or the PC contact
at the front of the camera. When photographing in the standard 35 mm format, any fl ash unit
should cover the entire subject area with the 45 and 90 mm lenses but probably not with the
30 mm lens. With the 45 mm lens used in the panoramic format, the fl ash unit must cover the
area of a 25 mm focal length lens. Check the specifi cations of the fl ash unit. If the fl ash does
not cover the area, consider bare bulb or bounced fl ash use.
On the XPan II model, the fl ash can be programmed to fi re at either the beginning or the
end of the exposure. To do so, press the Mode button on the camera LCD panel repeatedly
until the fl ash symbol and the letter N or R appears on the display. By pressing the up/down
controls, set the mode to N if the fl ash is to fi re at the beginning or to R if it is to fi re at the
end. Press the Mode button again to confi rm the selection.
