3.9 CANape driver
CANape is software developed by Vector Informatik GmbH headquartered in Stuttgart,
Germany. The software is primarily used in the functional development of software for
electronic control equipment in automotive applications.
The QuantumX CANape driver requires CANape version 10.0 SP2. Further information can
be found in the driver’s operating manual.
CANape enables data to be recorded, visualized and analyzed via the gateways connected
to the PC. This includes signals from fieldbuses such as FlexRay, CAN, CAN derivatives or
LIN or also from measuring instruments such as QuantumX or from cameras.
Using special protocols such as CCP or XCP, the software enables internal control
instrument parameters such as sensor data or parameter tables to be read and, if possible,
to parameterize these, for example for optimizing algorithms during runtime.
A control instrument’s error cache can be read our for diagnostic purposes using protocols
such as KPW2000 (example: sensor failure).
