3.2 Controller part
- Outline of electric parts and controller board function, list of check point and notes at
part replacement are explained as follows.
3.2.1 EZJ128 board (controller board)
[Function]
- Print data creation and their/management are.
- Program, user data and environment setup data are stored.
- Calendar management is performed.
- Control of screen display is performed.
- Control of touch panel is performed.
- Control of USB memory is performed.
- Communication I/F (RS 422) with the engine part is performed.

[Notes in case of the EZJ128 board replacement]
[Replacement procedures of EZJ128 board]
(1) Save the data in the USB memory by using "Copy data (IJP→USB)" function.
(From the IJ printer to the USB memory)
*) When the EZJ128 board is replaced with having NO back up available, follow the
instruction in the next page.
(2) Turn off the power.
(3) Open the control panel and remove connection cable and battery on the EZJ128
board.
(4) Replace EZJ128 board.
(5) Attach the connection cable and battery to the EZJ128 board.
(6) Insert the system data USB memory and then turn the power ON with the system
data USB memory inserted.
(7) Screen of IJP model selection is displayed for data download..
(8) Select "UX-Twinnozzle" and then press "Enter"..
(9) When data download is completed, message of "Model-key Information Difference"
will be shown. And then turn the main power OFF and ON to restart IJP.
(10) After download is completed, execute “System reset” on the second page of
the service maintenance screen.
Caution
- When replacing EZJ128 board, system data USB memory is required.
System data USB memory is a memory that stores the latest version of software.
By executing download, software versions of EZJ128 and EZJ133 will be
matched. If download is not executed, it might cause unstable operation due to
mismatching of the software version.
- Saving of user data is required.
When you replace EZJ128 board, follow [Replacement procedures of EZJ128 board]
described below including backup data saving. And then restore the backup data after
the board is replaced.
A single commercial USB memory (1GB or larger) can be used "System data USB
memory" and "Backup USB memory".
- Before replacing the boards, be sure to turn off the power OFF.
- After replacing the boards, be sure to connect the connectors in place.
Refer to "3.2.3 LCD" and "3.2.4 Touch panel for the insertion and extraction of
Connectors of CN4 and CN6.
- Locations of fixing screws (3 places) are shown in EZJ128 external view.

●EZJ128 board from revision D onward is only available for Model UX-D (Twin-nozzle).
Do not assemble EZJ128 board with revision C or before.
