Symptom
1746-Slot X Drive Array – Unsupported Storage Connection Detected. SAS connection via expander is not
supported on this controller model. Access to all storage has been disabled until the expander and
connections beyond it are detached or controller is upgraded.
Cause
The controller or firmware version does not support the attached drive enclosure.
Action
1. Do one of the following:
• Upgrade the controller.
• Update the firmware.

• Detach the expander-based storage connections.

• One or more logical drive(s) are configured for RAID fault tolerance level(s) that are not supported when
the memory module is detached.
